Iliana Ramos received her Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of California Davis, majoring in Managerial Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chicano Studies with an emphasis on Social/Policy Studies. As an undergraduate, Iliana was actively involved in helping underserved communities as an advocate for AB 540 (Dream Act) student rights. She served as a volunteer for the UC Davis annual Latina Youth Leadership Conferences, encouraging young middle school and high school Latinas to pursue higher education and the student-run, primary health clinic, Clinica Tepati, providing free services to the uninsured Sacramento area population.
Raised in Fontana, California from a family of hard working immigrants, Iliana is the first in her family to attend a four-year college. She is passionate about achieving social justice for underserved communities.
After completing the 2011-2012 Polanco Fellowship, Iliana hopes to further her education by attending law school and advocating for the rights of underserved communities through public policy work.
