Of special note: served as a judge for the California Academic Decathlon from 2004-2007.

Michael Castillo is a graduate of the University of California, Davis where he received two B.A.'s—one in International Relations: Peace and Security and the other in Chicano Studies: Policy Studies. He served as a tutor for the Davis Bridge program, which serves low-income and disadvantaged students in the community, as well being involved in several other organizations. His interests are Law and Education. His executive placement is with the CalPERS and his legislative placement is with Assemblymember Curren Price (AD-51). He is a proud native of the Rampart District near Downtown Los Angeles.
