Alejandro Huerta is a graduate of Stanford University where he received a B.A. in Urban Studies. He earned his Masters degree in Architectural History from the University of Virginia School of Architecture. At Stanford, he served as a tutor for the Barrio Assistance program, which serves Latino students from East Palo Alto, and as a student representative for El Guiding Concilio, El Centro Chicano’s governing board.

Ruth Leon was born in a small city in Guanajuato, Mexico and raised in Arvin, CA. She is proud to come from a working class family of eight. Ruth attended Arvin High School where she participated in many extra curricular activities including the Arvin High School We the People Constitution Team. She graduated from Arvin High in June of 2005 and went on to pursue a B.A. at California State University, Bakersfield.

Marlen Manzo is a Latina who grew up in the small town of Empire, Ca. She is the Daughter of Rosa Ortega and Jesus Manzo and is the sister to Jessica and Gerardo. She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis where she received a B.A. in Sociology emphasis on Law and Society. She will be attending Law School as soon as the 2010-2011 Polanco Fellowship Program ends.
