Geneve Villacres has served as Assistant Director of State Government Relations at UCLA since February of 2008. At UCLA, Geneve is responsible for maintaining relationships with state elected officials and their staff. She works primarily with legislators of the Los Angeles-area delegation. In her capacity as an assistant director, she works with the University of California ’s Office of the President to advocate for legislative bills supported by the University of California .
Prior to working for UCLA, Geneve served as a Field Representative to State Senator Alan Lowenthal. As a field representative, she served as the community liaison for the cities of Artesia, Cerritos , Hawaiian Gardens and Lakewood . Her policy portfolio included public safety, and she oversaw issues related to the following constituency groups in the district: youth, women, Latino, and Asian/Pacific Islander. Geneve also interned for the office of Assemblymember Betty Karnette, where she learned to work with constituents and assist them with state-related matters.
Geneve graduated in 2005 from California State University , Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a double concentration in U.S. Government, and International Relations.
