Commissioner Agredano was appointed by Supervisor Gloria Molina to the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission in 2007, he was elected by his colleagues as President in 2008. Agredano serves as a Board Member of the California Latino Legislative Caucus Institute, Madrinas and Padrinos Leadership Program, he served as 49th Assembly Chair for the California Democratic Party; he is a Founding Board Member and former Vice President of HONOR PAC, con-currently a member of the National Association of Latino Elected Officials, (NALEO) and an alumnus of the NALEO CA state-wide summit Health Leadership Project.

His academic journey started at East LA College. This led to dual baccalaureate degrees in Government and Chicano Studies from UC Berkeley, a Masters from Harvard University’s Divinity School and study fellowships in comparative religion at Oxford University in England, Early Christianity in Italy and international relations at La Universidad Internacional Menéndez-Pelayo, (UIMP) in Santander, Spain.

At Harvard he served as an Officer of the University at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, as a Research Assistant at the W.E.B. Du Boise Institute, a Teaching Fellow for Afro-American Studies and as administrator at Radcliffe College. Upon his return to California he served on the staff for Senator Jack Scott Ph.D, Chair of the Higher Education in the Senate and most currently as Chancellor of all California Community Colleges. Agredano has taught academic courses in the History of World Religions, US Political and Social History and Religion and Chicanos at East LA College, LA TradeTech College and Cal State, Northridge.

Agredano provided editing and research experience on such notable publications as The Dictionary of Global Cultures published by Kwame Anthony Appiah and Henry Louis Gates, Jr. He published in Harvard's Journal for Latin American Studies ReVista and was guest researcher for the “Study for Behavioral Health Studies”, in the American Journal of Public Health” 2003. A frequently invited guest at local and national UNIVISION programs like “Aqui y Ahora”, Agredano has appeared on FOX, KLVE, Power 106, Moving 93.9, KPFK, KPAS and the Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. He has been quoted in The Los Angeles Times, La Opinion and The Harvard Crimson.

Making an impact on every environment inhabited, his accolades include the Eastside Democratic Club distinction as “Democrat of the Year”, the Government of Spain named him, "Young Hispanic American Leader”, The California State Legislature presented him with a California State Resolution and during the 80th anniversary of La Opinion he was profiled as a “Future Leader”.

Agredano was born in Boyle Heights into a family of undocumented immigrants from Jalisco Mexico. Raised in East LA, South Central LA and in Huntington Park, CA, he resides in San Gabriel Valley since the mid 1990’s.
