The Madrinas Padrinos Leadership Program seeks members committed to fulfilling the mission of the California Latino Legislative Caucus Institute for Public Policy (the "Institute") in a manner consistent with and reflective of the values of the Institute. All members of the Madrinas Padrinos Program agree to abide by the following code of ethics.


Member Code of Ethics

 The Madrinas Padrinos Leadership Program seeks members committed to fulfilling the mission of the California Latino Legislative Caucus Institute for Public Policy (the "Institute") in a manner consistent with and reflective of the values of the Institute.  All members of the Madrinas Padrinos Program agree to abide by the following code of ethics.

1.     Respect the Institute and Fellow Members

  1. Abide by the By-Laws and Policies & Procedures of the Institute.
  2. Honor personal commitments made to the Institute.
  3. Treat other members with respect and courtesy.
  4. Maintain a cooperative and professional attitude in one's associations with the Institute.
  5. Safeguard the reputation and good name of the Institute at all times and not hold oneself out as a representative of the Institute without proper authorization.
  6. Consent to the authority of the program co-chairs to handle known, suspected or alleged violations of this code by members. 

 2.     Demonstrate Personal Integrity

  1. Maintain truthfulness and honesty and never compromise them for personal advancement, honor or gain.
  2. Ensure that others receive credit for their work and contributions.
  3. Guard against conflicts of interest or the appearance of any such conflicts.
  4. Respect superiors, subordinates, colleagues and the public.
  5. Take responsibility for one's own actions.
  6. Conduct official acts without partisanship.

3.     Strive for Professional Excellence

  1. Strengthen individual capabilities and encourage the professional development of others.
  2. Provide support and encouragement to advance competence.
  3. Undertake one's personal duty to stay informed concerning developing issues and problems that may affect society. 
  4. Allocate time to mentor students and provide a bridge between classroom studies and the realities of a profession.
